Explore Cabo Verde this summer

Cabo Verde promises you many beautiful sights and is a perfect destination for anyone who loves an adventure. Our country has multiple locations that you can explore no matter what your interests are.

It doesn’t matter if you love the tranquility of the beach, or you prefer our vibrant nightlife or you’re more of a history buff, Cabo Verde has it all and without much ado, here are a few places you must visit when you volunteer in Cabo Verde with AIESEC.

The beautiful Island of Sal

With an international airport and a growing population of over 20,000 people, Sal is one place that you must visit when you volunteer in Cabo Verde. When you combine the fact that it’s considered by many to be our country’s sunniest city and its beautiful beaches, it’s not hard to figure out why Sal is so wonderful.

Within this Island, there is a small harbor town called Palmeira and they control a large chunk of our country's maritime trade. Palmeira attracts many tourists and world-renowned divers that are attracted by the underwater caves and reefs located just off the coast of the town.

Santo Antao Island

This Island is home to many sights that you can explore. One of such is the Ribeira Grande, a small city nestled in the Ribeira Grande Valley. This city has a very bubbly food market and small restaurants where you can enjoy authentic Cabo Verdean delicacies.

Santo Antao is also home to Porto-Novo, a very important location key to the history of Africa. There is a museum with artifacts of the past Porto-Novo kings; you can also find a royal palace, government buildings, and colonial buildings. Visiting this palace will give an insight into what life was like for ancient Porto-Novo royalty.

Sao Vicente

Sao Vicente is a great place and very popular with surfers, it has been described by many visitors as being quiet, beautiful, and having picturesque sunsets.

Sao Vicente is bounded by two other islands within Cabo Verde namely Santa Luzia and Santo Antão. It is fondly called “Ilha do Porto Grande” by the locals. It is the birthplace of coladeira music- find out more about this when you volunteer in Cabo Verde.

These islands and more have lots of beautiful sights to offer and we can't wait for you to explore them all when you volunteer in Cabo Verde with AIESEC.
