As a Global Volunteer with AIESEC, one of the ultimate goals you should try to achieve is to try as much indeginous dishes as possible while in Cabo Verde and couscous is one dish definitely worth trying.
Couscous is one of the most well-known indeginous dishes in Cabo Verde. Couscous is a form of pasta made from tiny granules of durum wheat, couscous grains are then prepared by steaming them until they have a light, fluffy consistency, and this’ll result in a chewy and firm texture.
The presence of so many ingredients such as meat and vegetables makes couscous a little harder to prepare than most other Cabo Verdean dishes.
This particular dish involves quite a bit of heat control in order to get a final result where everything is well-cooked and not overcooked, at the end of preparation a good plate of this dish should be bright and fresh. After all is said and done, couscous is the perfect dish for you, just a small quantity is enough to keep you energetic the whole day.
